SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — New federal help is on the way for victims of the September tornados in Sioux Falls and the flooding in Madison and Mitchell.
A Small Business Administration Recovery Center opens in Sioux Falls on Thursday, November 21.
“These are our federal taxpayer dollars at work, so if you had any damage, whether you are a business, homeowner, renter, or non-profit, come to the business recovery center,” says SBA Spokesman Corey Williams.
Williams says the Recovery Center will offer a variety of specialized help, including loans with no closing costs and interest rates as low as 1.7 percent.
“Homeowners can actually borrow up to $200,000 to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate.”
The Business Recovery Center is located at the SBA South Dakota District Office, 2329 North Career Avenue, Suite 105.
The Center opens at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, and then will be open Mondays through Fridays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The deadline for applying for property damage is January 17, 2020, for economic injury August 18, 2020.
The SBA center is opening as a result of President Donald Trump’s federal disaster declaration requested by Governor Kristi Noem.
