New case of measles reported in Brookings
PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) -- South Dakota Health Department officials say a child in Brookings has been diagnosed with measles. It was the eighth case detected in South Dakota this year, the first since late February. Five cases involved children. All of the cases have been detected in the eastern part of the state.

UNDATED (KELO.com) -- Turnout in Tuesday's primary election was above 34 percent, the strongest for a South Dakota primary election since 2008. More than 171-thousand people cast votes. Turnout for Republicans was 43 percent, compared to 17 percent for Democrats and 10 percent for independents and other parties.
