East Side Fire Sent One Person to the Hospital

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — One person was hospitalized following an apartment fire on the east side of Sioux Falls late yesterday afternoon.

Black smoke was coming from a lower-level apartment in the 2500 Block of East 10th Street when crews arrived at about 4:30.

Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue says there was a small fire in the kitchen area that took about 5 minutes to extinguish.

Residents self-evacuated before fire crews arrived.
