SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — They’re looking to assist individuals who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. Over the past two summers, the Sioux Falls Police Department partnered with Southeastern Behavioral Health to introduce the Co-Responder Model. Director of Southeastern Behavioral Health Kim Hanson.
Police Lieutenant Jason Leach says since the program’s inception, they’ve treated over 230 people.
The goal of the Co-Responder Model is to spend time with individuals and provide them the right resources to get the care they need.
