SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — They’re gearing up to repeal South Dakota’s grocery tax. “Dakotans for Health” co-founder Rick Weiland is working on putting teams together. He believes the grocery tax petition drive will be easy to complete.
Governor Noem said earlier this year that even she would sign a petition, after proposing the grocery tax repeal to the legislature. Legislative leaders opted instead to reduce the overall state sales tax from 4.5 to 4.2%.
