DES MOINES, IA (KELO.com) — Most Iowans go directly to the source to buy meat and dairy products. A Harris Poll shows 84 percent of Iowans purchase directly from meat lockers, farmers and farmers’ networks. The study was commissioned by the Iowa Farm Bureau. Seeing the results, the Farm Bureau is working to help farmers explore alternative markets and direct-to-consumer sales.
