WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — Congress is moving closer to passing legislation designed to boost housing supply and affordability. The House and Senate have both passed versions of the 21st Century Road to Housing Act. On the floor of the U-S Senate, Majority Leader John Thune said its provisions will make a difference in South Dakota. “As one Sioux Falls realtor wrote last year, and I quote, ‘Developers now have stronger incentives and fewer barriers to build more affordable units.'” Final votes in both chambers are expected in coming days.
