SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls’ forecast:
A cold front sweeping through the area this afternoon and early evening could bring a few strong to severe storms.
The greatest threat for severe storms will be across parts of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa, where there is potential for hail to around 2 inches in diameter, wind gusts to 70 mph, and even an isolated tornado.
A cold front will move through the region Friday afternoon and evening, bringing widespread chances for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds.
A few of the strongest storms could also bring large hail and damaging wind gusts.
