SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Scammers posing as the FBI bilk a Minnehaha County woman out of $7,000 in gift cards.
They almost got her for $20,000 in cash.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says the scammers said a car she had sold was used in a drug conspiracy in Texas.
They said if she didn’t get the gift cards then the money, she’d be arrested by the FBI.
The Sheriff’s Office was able to intercept the package with $20,000 in it.
Authorities say these scams are common in Sioux Falls and elsewhere.
