OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — Mixed signals on the regional economy, as we see improvements in Manufacturing in spite of job losses and high inflation. Creighton University’s monthly Mid-American Business Conditions Index was in positive territory for the fifth straight month. Economist, Dr. Ernie Goss says the region has lost 15-thousand jobs over the past 12 months. “This is the 10th time in the last 12 months that we’ve recorded job losses for the region.” The manufacturing sector in South Dakota lost about 800 jobs over the last year. That’s 1.8% of its manufacturing base.
