Attorney General Marty Jackley
UNDATED (KELO.com) — A Bureau of Indian Affairs law enforcement training center will be opening in North Dakota, despite calls for it to be located in South Dakota. Attorney General Marty Jackley advocated for a regional academy in South Dakota for years. He calls the North Dakota location a step in the right direction, but says it still presents challenges for South Dakota tribal law officer training. The only current training center for Native American officers is in New Mexico. U-S Interior Secretary and former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum issued an executive order calling for the training center in North Dakota.
