CANTON, SD (KELO.com) — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a scam involving Venmo accounts. A person claiming to be “Deputy Brown” has been requesting payments, and several people have sent money to the fake character on the app. The sheriff’s office says you should hang up if you receive a call requesting electronic payment to law enforcement or courts.
