SIOUX FALLS, DS (KELO.com) — With the tax season behind us, now is a good time to take steps to protect yourself from fraud. Crime Stoppers is conducting its annual shred event in Sioux Falls Saturday morning. Police Sgt. Jacob Harris says it’s a quick way to destroy sensitive documents – like old tax returns – while helping support Crime Stoppers. “They (Crime Stoppers) consistently provide actionable leads for law enforcement to follow up on cases ranging from simple shoplifting all the way up to homicides.” The Shred Event is Crime Stoppers’ only fundraising event throughout the year. A donation of $5 per box is suggested. Drop off sites are at Roosevelt, Washington or Lincoln High Schools…and at the Sioux Falls Christian Parking lot.
