From Toby Doeden for Governor's facebook page
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The four Republican Party candidates for Governor have one more debate appearance before the June primary. The Dakota Scout/Forum Communications debate is set for April 27th at the Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls. We’ve been featuring the candidates on KELO-AM 1320 this week, focusing on their main talking points. Today we hear from Aberdeen businessman Toby Doeden.
Doeden says he wasn’t involved in politics until recent years, when he had the feeling the South Dakota he’s known all his life was slipping away, “I just talked to thousands of people, and I started finding out about things like Summit Carbon Solutions, eminent domain for private gain. I found out that property taxes had doubled, which, with our company we had seen that coming. I talked with people all over the state and everywhere I went, they said it’s harder to pay our bills today than it was just a few short years ago.”
If elected, Doeden says he’ll do away with property taxes in South Dakota. You can hear more from him on the Greg Belfrage Podcast by following this link.
