PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota lawmakers have decided to leave well enough alone concerning last year’s so-called ‘bathroom bill’. That bill became law, segregating the use bathrooms, of changing rooms, showers and sleeping quarters by sex at the time of a person’s birth. That law has created some problems for the Sioux Falls Fire Department’s older fire houses, which have single open bays for sleeping. Fire Chief Matt McAreavey supported a bill to clarify last year’s law. A legislative committee resisted efforts to change last year’s law, and killed the bill for the year.
