SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The response to the need for affordable housing has propelled South Dakota’s two largest Habitat for Humanity affiliates to become national leaders. Sioux Falls Habitat has nearly completed the Millard Acres project that has 13 twin homes in northeastern Sioux Falls. Rapid City has purchased land for a 40-unit subdivision. South Dakota News Watch reports Habitat leaders say creative funding keeps the homes under 350-thousand dollars – the price now considered affordable in South Dakota.
