PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Members of South Dakota’s Beef Industry lined up in the state capitol to defend their product and their way of life Tuesday morning. A lengthy line of people wanted to testify in favor of a bill to outlaw cultured meat. Bill Sponsor Representative Julie Auch of Yankton says it is ‘fake meat’, and hasn’t been thoroughly tested as safe for human consumption. The committee approved the bill, sending it to the full House floor with a ‘do pass’ recommendation.
