MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KELO.com) — Tensions are running high in Minneapolis, as protestors show up in large numbers following Wednesday’s fatal shooting of a woman by ICE agents yesterday. The war of words goes beyond what’s happening on the streets to what elected leaders are saying. Governor Tim Walz told Minnesotans not to believe Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s account of the shooting as an act of self defense. He dismissed that as propaganda.
Secretary Noem says Democrats calling the shooting a murder is part of the problem. She says provocative speech has led to a sharp increase in attacks on ICE and Homeland Security agents. Both sides now say time is needed to allow investigators to do their work rather than jump to conclusions.
