SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Senator Mike Rounds says mail delivery has become slower than it was during the days of the Pony Express, but it’s time for that to change. Rounds has been looking for solutions on slow mail delivery for months. He says the problem is sending mail to regional processing centers outside of South Dakota – even if the mail is just going across the street. He has first-hand experience on the delays that arrangement creates. His Rapid City office sent a parcel to Pierre. They discovered that before it arrived in Pierre, it had gone to Denver, Des Moines and Fargo.
The Senator had a meeting with the Inspector General for the USPS Thursday. He’s determined on the issue, and says it WILL get fixed.
