SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Hundreds of child sexual exploitation victims rescued, and hundreds of alleged offenders under arrest. That’s the result of a year’s worth of work by the Department of Justice in what’s called “Operation Relentless Justice.” The effort consisted of a series of two-week surges focused on rescuing child sex victims and helping restore their lives. U-S Attorney for South Dakota, Ron Parsons, says a Pine Ridge man is among those facing charges.
Donovan He Crow of Pine Ridge is alleged to be a repeat sex offender who is most recently alleged to have committed Abusive Sexual Contact with a child in violation of federal law. If convicted, He Crow would face a mandatory minimum sentence of life in federal prison.
The most recent surge led to the liberation of 205 child victims. Some were sex trafficked, including a number of children who were lost at the border in recent years. Many of the victims are now receiving treatment to help them overcome the trauma they have faced.
