PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Governor Larry Rhoden’s Operation: Prairie Thunder has generated hundreds of arrests and citations, but some have wondered at what cost? The operation began in July and has focused on saturation patrols working on drug violations, parole absconders and immigration issues. The Department of Public Safety says the only extra cost has been about 43-thousand dollars for overtime.
