Minnehaha County (KELO.com) — The cost of housing inmates is going up along with the cost of living. Minnehaha County Commissioners approved a rate hike for housing Lincoln County Inmates in the Minnehaha County Jail. The cost is going from 112 dollars per day up to 131.90. Warden Mike Madsen revealed the state Department of Corrections only pays 95 dollars per day. The Lincoln County Commission has already approved the higher rate.
