Sioux Falls City Council approves plan to replace Frank Olson Pool

After six years of planning, the Sioux Falls City Council moves ahead with plans to replace Frank Olson Pool on the city’s east side. Councilors voted 5-3 to build the Frank Olson Park Indoor Pool and Recreation Center. Richard Thomason joined Curt Soehl in opposing the plan. Soehl says their opposition focuses on the fitness center component. The proposal won an important endorsement from Collin Olson, the grandson of the park’s namesake. The project will take about three years to build.
