SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota’s median income has more than doubled since 2000, but expenses are climbing as well. South Dakota NewsWatch reports median income went from over 37-thousand in 2000 to over 72-thousand in 2023. At the same time, social service agencies like Helpline are seeing a lot of people with food insecurity and needs for assistance. When adjusted for inflation, incomes are growing at about 1.5% annually.
