BLACK HILLS, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota’s Black Hills region is running out of water. A new federal study shows groundwater supplies aren’t refilling fast enough to support growing communities from Box Elder to Sturgis. That news has officials working feverishly to win approval of a water pipeline system from the Missouri River, similar to the Lewis & Clark water project.
