(Sioux Falls, SD) — Sioux Falls takes a big step Tuesday as it breaks ground on South Dakota’s first-ever Jewish community center. The Chabad Jewish Community Center will serve as a synagogue, a place for learning, and a space for social gatherings. Rabbi Mendel Alperowitz says it’s a much-needed resource for the state’s growing Jewish population and a symbol of Sioux Falls’ welcoming spirit. The new center is going up on West 85th Street, with construction officially kicking off at 2:30 p.m. with an event.
