PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — It’s another round in the debate over how to support families facing poverty while balancing the state budget. The South Dakota Interim Rules Review Committee of the Legislature has voted to cut Temporary Assistance for Needy Families benefits by ten percent. Democratic Representative Erik Muckey calls the move shameful, saying it wasn’t properly discussed during this year’s legislative session.
