SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A Brandon woman has pleaded guilty to attempting to distribute drugs at the South Dakota Penitentiary. 46-year-old Melissa Cockerham was sentenced to 5 years in prison, with 3 1/2 years suspended. Attorney General Marty Jackley says Cockerham attempted to throw a package of meth over the prison wall to an inmate in November of 2023.
