MADISON, SD (KELO.com) — Carbon capture pipeline opponents in Lake County are trying to decide what’s next. Tuesday morning, the Lake County Commission rejected petitions they turned in two weeks ago, calling for a public vote on proposed pipeline ordinances.
Petition circulators say county officials haven’t explained why the petitions were invalidated. They gathered well over the required number of signatures calling for the public vote.
