PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — No sanctuary cities in South Dakota. Governor Larry Rhoden signed his first bill into law as Governor this morning…to ban sanctuary cities in the state.
Governor Rhoden says the bill is also symbolic of supporting former Governor Noem in her role now as Secretary of Homeland Security. During the bill signing, the Governor was asked about an apparent change in his posture toward running for re-election.
Congressman Dusty Johnson and Attorney General Marty Jackley are both listed as interested in running for Governor. The Governor says he’ll be making an announcement sometime in the near future.
