PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — If you’re hoping to see Amtrak passenger service in South Dakota don’t pack your bags too soon. State Transportation Secretary Joel Jundt says the cost would be monumental, and probably prohibitive.
The other problem is ridership. South Dakota’s low population probably wouldn’t support the cost of providing the service.
