SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The men and women in blue say they’ve talked until they’re blue in the face, but they wonder if anyone’s listening. So, Sioux Falls police trying a new method of communicating. Police Chief Jon Thum says car thefts have gone from 759 in 2019, to almost 15-hundred so far this year.
The police department is launching a 50-thousand dollar campaign to try to break the trend. The theme is “Lock it and Pocket” – meaning always lock your car, and always put the keys in your pocket.
