SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Seven-thousand free fire alarms installed in the last ten years. That’s the work of Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue, as officers work to save lives. Fire inspector Brandon Fey says every second counts when a fire starts. This year, there’s a new addition to the program of particular interest to the deaf community – bed shakers.
As part of fire prevention week, Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue invites city residents who need alarms to request them. Call the Helpline Center at 211, or go to siouxfalls.org/smokealarms for more info.
