Reaction to PUC decision to deny Navigator pipeline permit

PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — They were slow to deliver safety information and appeared willing to violate local zoning regulations.  Those are some of the main concerns that led the Public Utilities Commission to reject the Navigator carbon capture pipeline.  Commissioner Gary Hanson laid out some of the concerns.

State Representative Karla Lems owns property that would be crossed by two of the CO-2 pipelines.  She is relieved the PUC ruled against the Navigator line.

Next week, the PUC begins hearings on the proposed Summit CO-2 pipeline.
