SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Whether it’s the State Fair or your local county fair, it’s the time of year when politicians begin making their appearances. This is also the year Congress renews its 5-year Agriculture bill, and Senator Mike Rounds says it’s critical to keep a strong safety net for producers.
Representative Dusty Johnson and Senator John Thune are on the agriculture committees in their chambers. Senator Rounds hopes this is the year we see action on “Country of Origin” labeling.
Country of Origin labeling has been on the wish list of farm state lawmakers for decades. Senators Rounds and Thune will appear at the Dakota Fest near Mitchell tomorrow, along with Representative Johnson.
