No cleanup for Lake Mitchell – at least not for now. Mitchell City Councilors deadlocked in a vote to borrow $25-million dollars to help clean the lake. Councilor Jeff Smith says it’s important to take action now.
Others say they don’t want to saddle residents with the debt. The lake suffers from high phosphate levels from farm runoff.
