Medicaid expansion begins in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It’s expected to cost South Dakota over $12-million in the next year.  Medicaid expansion starts next month, and the enrollment period is now open.  Voters approved making Medicaid available to low-income residents at the polls last November.  Erik Nelson of AARP says it will help tens of thousands of South Dakotans get coverage.

Nelson says new enrollees will notice major price reductions for health care services.
