Just like clockwork, gas prices are headed higher as the summer travel season approaches. That’s compounded by OPEC’s recent announcement it’s cutting production. A gallon of gas costs an average of $3.50 per gallon in South Dakota…compared to $3.83 per gallon last year. Shawn Steward of Triple “A” South Dakota says there’s a lot of pressure on crude oil prices…especially following the recent announcement from OPEC that it was cutting production later this month. Add that to the busy summer driving season, and you have the right ingredients for higher prices. But take heart, prices are still lower than the record highs set last June, when the nationwide price his $5.00 per gallon.
