Jill and Joe Biden recently shared a meal at Italian American restaurant Red Hen in Washington. This sparked controversy because they ordered the same thing. Emily Heil at The Washington Post says that’s ‘verboten’. Since when?
The Bidens did it, but for many, it’s verboten to choose the same entree as one’s dining partner. https://t.co/39BuBrg363

Jessica Sidman at The Washingtonian had the same goofy reaction!
There are 2 types of couples in this world: those who order the same dish at a restaurant and those who would never ever dare… I would definitely glare at my husband if he ordered the same thing as me because obviously we need to try as much of the menu as possible! https://t.co/35KbHafvXh

I rarely order the same thing as my partner, but I’ve done it.
Some couples like sharing food. They agree on the dishes they want and then split them.
But what if I’m hungrier than my partner and I want my plate all to myself? Is that selfish? I don’t think so. I’m paying the bill, anyway.
The Bidens ordered the same food. Big deal.
I find his policies for the country much more troubling than his restaurant choices.
