SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — You may have noticed by now that travel is close to impossible on city, county, state and federal roadways within the KELO listening area.
Several No Travel advisories are in effect for roads in southeastern South Dakota, southwestern Minnesota and northwestern Iowa.
Vehicles are becoming stuck due to the heavy snow, including emergency personnel.
Snow is expected to continue falling through the evening and overnight hours.
As of 11 a.m., between 11 and 11.5 inches of has fallen near Joe Foss Field, according to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.
As of 11 AM, the storm total snowfall at NWS Sioux Falls is between 11 to 11.5 inches ❄️ While the heaviest snow is coming to an end in the Sioux Falls area, expect periods of light to moderate snow to persist for the remainder of the day.
