SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after an overnight shooting in Sioux Falls.
Police say the shooting took place in the 5800 block of W. Christopher Place shortly before 2 a.m.
Public Information Officer Sam Clemens says that the victim and his friend went to meet up with a couple of other individuals when an altercation may have occurred.
Shortly after the encounter, the victim was shot once in the face by one of the suspects.
The victim’s friend called police a short time later and met them in the 5200 block of W. 12th Street where he was then rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Clemens says that because of the victim’s condition, they have very little information about the case so far.
They’re asking those who live in the area to check surveillance footage from around the time of the shooting and report anything out of the ordinary to police.
No suspects have been arrested at this time
