PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota Department of Health announces the launch of a new telehealth partnership between DOH, Emergency Medical Service Agencies, and Sioux Falls-based telemedicine provider, Avel eCare.
Telemedicine in Motion uses telemedicine to transform the delivery of care provided to patients throughout the state.
The initiative has a budget of $1.7 million dollars, approved by the South Dakota Legislature.
Avel eCare works directly with EMS providers on the initial installation and training as well as offering continued support.
The goal is to increase retention and recruitment of EMS workforce with access to on-demand support.
