Sioux Falls man cuts off monitoring bracelet, leads law enforcement on two state chase

CANTON, S.D. — (KELO.com) — It all started yesterday Tuesday afternoon when a man cut off his monitoring bracelet.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted the suspect, 31-year-old Vincent Whaler, of Sioux Falls, in Canton and began a pursuit.

Once speeds got too high, deputies broke off the chase.

Then the chase picked up in Minnesota, then back in SD on I-90.

The S.D. Highway Patrol laid tire spikes and caught Whaler.

He’s charged with numerous counts, including escape, eluding, speeding, and other charges.
