MADISON COUNTY, IA (KELO.com) — Iowa State Patrol says a tornado severely impacted rural Winterset Saturday. The public is urged to stay clear of the area until further notice. Six people have died, including two children. The Des Moines National Weather Service says early data suggests at least EF3 damage occurred.
The owners of PepperHarrow flower farm stood on a scoured foundation addressing Instagram followers. While grateful to have their lives and home standing, their greenhouses and other buildings were destroyed. The family was safely sheltered in the house where they were celebrating their son’s birthday.
