SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa rolled up her sleeve to help out during a national blood shortage and she’s asking able Iowans to do so as well. Ernst says the pandemic and winter weather season has created a nationwide shortage on blood. She’s encouraging everyone to get out and donate.
The American Red Cross of South Dakota says about 12.500 blood and nearly 3.000 platelet donations are needed daily for patients who rely on blood to survive. Find upcoming blood donor events and register to give at: http://cbblifeblood.org/events/2022-03/
