BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Brookings community members stepped up to say “thank you” to healthcare workers during the “Thanks a Latte – Perks for Healthcare Workers” campaign, a collaboration between the City of Brookings and Brookings Health System.
Handwritten and digitally submitted cards from Brookings’ residents were delivered with coffee and hot chocolate sachets to over 1,300 healthcare workers across the Brookings community on Valentine’s Day.
“It was really heartwarming to see how many people are so grateful for the things that these healthcare workers do every day,” said Brookings Public Information Officer Chelsie Bakken.
“Thank-you to everyone who took the time to write a note to our community’s healthcare workforce,” said Brookings Health System President & CEO Jason Merkley. “It’s a small act of appreciation that goes a long way.”
