WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — A federal bill sponsored by Senator John Thune has been signed into law.
The bi-partisan Supplemental Impact Aid Flexibility Act ensures school districts participating in the Impact Aid Program maintain stable funding levels.
The bill will allow school districts to use previously reported student headcounts on their Impact Aid applications for the 2022-2023 school year due to ongoing, yet temporary, enrollment fluctuations stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The bill was co-sponsored by Senator Tina Smith of Minnesota.
