Local residents who take their best friend for a walk, take caution during these extra chilly days.
Keep your dogs’ fur thick, yet trimmed around the paws to prevent clinging ice. Dog coats and boots are not a fashion statement. They protect from poisonous ice-melting agents or spilled engine coolant.
Your pal likes to lick, and paws can become chapped. Limit bathing, towel dry thoroughly, perhaps use a paw moisturizer. Provide plenty of water plus extra food as animals burn more energy in wintertime.
Ensure your pet has a warm place to sleep. Above all, never leave your furry friend outdoors (even in a vehicle) in freezing temperatures!
