SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — KELO.com News’ tenth most impactful local story of 2021 is marijuana.
We spent much of the year waiting on what the South Dakota Supreme Court would do with a lawsuit challenging the voter’s passage of recreational marijuana in 2020.
Last month, the Supremes said the amendment wasn’t drafted properly.
But the City of Sioux Falls and other local governments also struggled with what to do about medical marijuana, which the voters also approved in 2020.
That was in part about waiting on the recreational decision.
The Sioux Falls City Council and other governing bodies have passed enacting legislation, but dispensaries are still not up and running.
