SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police were kept busy over the weekend with several calls. Here are the biggest stories from Monday’s Police Briefing.
MAN STABBED BY WOMAN WHO STOLE HIS IPOD
Authorities in Sioux Falls are looking for a woman who stabbed a man in the back over the weekend.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning when the suspect was leaving the victim’s apartment.
According to police, the woman took an iPod that belonged to the man.
The man attempted to get the iPod back, and during a brief struggle, the woman ended up stabbing the victim in the back.
He was then taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is still at large.
SEVERAL SHOTS FIRED AT TWO UNSUSPECTING VICTIMS
Sioux Falls Police are looking for a man who fired several shots at two people on Friday night.
Two men were outside of an apartment complex in the 3500 block of south Marion Road, when they were approached by the suspect.
The suspect flashed a gun at the two men who then took off running.
He then fired several shots in their direction, and fled the scene shortly afterwards.
Police say the victims didn’t know the suspect, and believe the suspect may have mistook them for someone else.
MAN IN STOLEN VEHICLE CRASHES AFTER ELUDING POLICE
A Sioux Falls man is in jail after stealing a vehicle and leading Sioux Falls Police on a chase over the weekend.
The suspect stole the vehicle at a gas station in the 4600 block of west 41st street.
An officer spotted the vehicle a short time later.
When police tried to pull him over, the suspect took off.
He eventually crashed into another vehicle after running a red light at 10th and Cleveland.
25-year-old Gabriel Guenther was arrested for Grand Theft, Aggravated Eluding, and Reckless Driving.
SCHOOL GUN THREAT WAS FOUND TO BE A MISUNDERSTANDING
Sioux Falls Police say that they received reports this weekend about an area student possibly talking about bringing a gun to school.
Upon further investigation, police found the claim to be unfounded.
According to police, somebody made a comment in a Snapchat video about whether or not they were going to go to school on Monday.
A viewer misinterpreted the comment as a reference to a possible school shooting.
No specific threat was identified, and no charges were filed against the student.
BUS BENCH LOVERS BUSTED MID-ACT
A man and a woman were arrested on Sunday afternoon in Sioux Falls for indecent exposure.
Police received calls about a woman performing sexual acts to a man on a bus stop bench.
Upon arrival, police found the two still at the bench, and arrested them without incident.
